CONCEPTUAL LANDSCAPE
There is no escaping the presence of humans on our earth. Although there are places where this is not immediately clear, there are hardly any landscapes in the industrialized world that manage to hide his presence despite the absence of this human being.
Man's hand reaches far beyond our horizon. In these conceptual landscape series I depict aspects of human actions that shape our landscape.
This series was created while traveling on the parallel B roads of the Route du Soleil. There where the agricultural landscape is only interspersed with small sleepy French villages.
Paysage culturel is the French term for Cultural Landscape; A landscape that, in contrast to a natural landscape, has been designed by man.
Although the landscape is completely free of human presence, buildings and architectural elements and consists only of natural elements, the presence of man is unmistakable.
