The experience of complete social isolation has become almost universal. I undertook this photographic series during Melbourne's extended lockdown in 2020 as the full-time carer for an infant and a circus artist ejected from his place in the world. It served as documentation of our time together, as therapy and as artistic output in a world where my finely honed skills were no longer necessary or needed. My focus turned to learning to be a father and providing my family with an environment to thrive in a world where facial expressions were hidden and playgrounds were off limits.
