"Stuke after Sebald's Austerlitz" tells the story about Austerlitz who is as an elderly man searching and revisiting all the places of his life.
Born in Prague which he left with the Kindertransports to London when he was 5, then lived in Wales and London.
I did follow his traces and his life.
Austerlitz the protagonist of the book written by WG Sebald is based on three real lifetime stories.
What is his home, why did he and so many other had and still have to leave their homes and what does it mean to them?
This book is focused on the Kindertransports and the fact that they had to leave their home because it wasn't safe no more. But unfortunately it's not only history. Till now humans have to leave their homes, their countries and their familiar environments.
Thousands of people are on their ways even right now, but numbers are intangible and not imaginable.
With the help of single stories it get's more conceivable and might give an idea what it means for an individual person.
