This is Maja, my girlfriend, in front of her mirror at home.
I so much like this situation, Maja at her “getting ready” morning routine. There is a concentration here, that I find visually and emotionally intriguing. Perfect for photos. And Maja is much less self-aware looking at herself in the mirror than she is looking in the camera.
It’s interesting for me, even fun to watch her non-speaking self-dialogue. Many different moods and faces in a short times. And the light is good to near the window.
When I take out the camera, and she knows I am taking photos of her during the routine, she continues doing her thing uninterrupted. I only bother her a little bit.
She also knows I really like to watch her like this, and like making photos like this, and probably that feels sort of nice, and it also helps her to know, that I will stop taking photos after a few minutes and make breakfast ready.
Photos are taken with 35mm analog rangefinder camera with a 50mm lens. Film is Ferrania P30 shot handheld at ISO80, 1/30 sec, f.2.8.
