I always found it hard to expose my sense of vulnerability. As a child, I was taught to present a carefree, sunny disposition. But I harbor knotty, sometimes paradoxical emotions and vexing fears. Villains and saints alike reside deep in my shadows, impelling me to shed light on bleak internal conflicts. Constructing these images brings light to those shadows and contradictions. Born of intuition, mood, and inspiration, my images suspend photographed people and places in vibrant constructed fantasies that hint at contradictions lurking beneath the myths that we all perpetrate. Disconnection and longing belie rosy illusions of domestic tranquility, softened with slashes of light offering hope
