Vessels as subject matter have intrigued me for several years. When looking at something familiar, it’s easy to stop seeing it and considering it altogether: in the case of a vessel, a container, designed to hold, swirl, pour, sip. When examined more closely, complexities emerge: how forces such as gravity affect the contents; how the physical material and our relative position affects how we see the contents; how the shape can refer to a class, hierarchy, or what belongs (or not) inside the vessel.
