I'm petrified of heights, I suffer from severe motion sickness. And I abhor the inherent danger of trusting my life to a single-engine aircraft. And yet, I have spent countless hours hanging out of planes and helicopters in some of the most remote corners of the world with nothing between me and the ground but a harness and a camera. Why, you may ask. Because I'm fascinated by the magical moment when the reality of an exotic terrain becomes abstract art. I shoot not to document landscapes, but to capture the wondrous colors, textures, light, and patterns that only Nature can create.
