The New Dutch School series is a collection of modern still life works of fine art photography. The series is an art study of a new ways of expression, by combining the two major streams of art tradition: contemporary art's approach in its dynamic, edge-feeling and boldness of the statement with classic art tradition in shadow-light resolution, its grouping of subjects in still-life works and its subject matter. Additionally, the author's idea behind the series is also to imagine ordinary subjects of a daily life through the lens of art. The series has also become an opportunity for the artist to examine an array of interactions: between shape and colour, between surface and a subject on or in relation with it, between various shapes of the same colour, between congenial or contrasting shapes. The aesthetic of shape is of the interest for the artist, as well as symbolism of colour. The artist way of creating her works in this series is not create a visual portraits as a mirroring images of a nature, but to create also a philosophical message, reflection and metaphor in poetic and symbolic way. In this way, The New Dutch School series can be also seen as the collection of metaphors created by the artist.
