She Comes and She Goes
My photography is developed in layers with a need to rewrite the original narrative. Currently my memory is slipping, I can’t be trusted to hold onto the details. I am now the age my mom and my paternal grandmother were when they died, both too young.
How would my family be today if they were still here with us. What would the new memories be for my kids? Would they stay on the phone too long and drink coffee at the kitchen table with their grandma? Would they stay up late playing cards in a smoke filled room?
Projecting found images allows me to rediscover family connections and relationships as they are imagined and change over time.
