When I took on this project, I wanted to release my own hesitancy of showing myself.
I never anticipated turning 50 would be this significant, but my physical, emotional, and mental self has changed.
I've heard other women talking about feeling different, experiencing a vital perspective shift in their lives. I also heard them talk about feeling distanced and pushed aside by the medical community, cultural expectations, and ignored by society.
This project Womanhood 50+ is not just about me and my voice. The following pieces of Womanhood will be to photograph other woman over 50, using the same techniques and aesthetic.
These are tack sharp images of a "dead" image; rather, these photos "vibrate" with "life." As they should because we are all emerging from the background to the foreground of life.
