A series of portraits taken in the New York subway during the winter storm of 2017. These images coincidently make direct reference to Walker Evans' "Subway Portraits" taken also in the subway between 1938 and 1941, using an undercover Contax camera hidden in his winter coat. It all started as a "deja vu" experience when I suddenly realized that I was sitting right in front of a Walker Evans' live photograph. The rest is a personal tribute to Evan's visionary contribution to the art and challenges of Street Photography.
