When I took these pictures I had just moved to Paris and I was working as a mailman. I started taking photos as a way to keep my spirit alive during the long and repetitive work shifts. Photography became a spiritual exercise, forcing me to look at things differently, pushing me to find beauty in the everyday and the banal.
I called this series Conjunctions, because there's nothing particularly beautiful or exotic in the things I photographed, but for a lucky alignment of circumstances – light, shape, reflections – these banal scenes became something magic in my eyes, if only for a moment.
