The Phocaean Journey

This series is built around the city of Marseille, in France. Taken over multiple travels, the series explores the idea of frontier on a practical, philosophical, and ethical basis. Semantically the words "frontier" and "limit" are indissociable, therefore I have chosen to question the limits between dream and reality, tangible and intangible, figuration and abstraction, as well as mineral and liquid. On an aesthetic standpoint, this project was an opportunity to explore those couples by working on reflections, colors and hard contrasts. However, alongside the visual quest that motivated this work, it was important for me to underline the close ties between humans and their environment.
