I've been photographically documenting the unraveling of the American dream as told through the stories of Chinese migrant families the past years. Those who left Hong Kong and China in hope of a better life and while America has granted the opportunity to improve their socio-economic status, what price is paid when cultural and language barriers isolate people from participating fully in the community and society. The homes of these families become a hidden enclave and the purpose of my photos is to show how these families preserve their Chinese culture while living in America.
