Wilbert de Joode ( Amsterdam , May 11 1955 ) is a Dutch jazz bassist .
The Joode is a musical autodidact . He plays bass in 1982 soon after he played in several. improvising jazz groups: Vera Vingerhoeds , Armando Cairo and Ig Henneman . In 1988 he made ??his first recordings at Vingerhoeds, followed by recordings with JC Tans , Rinus Groeneveld and Henneman, with whom he was often in the studio in the following years. Around 1990 he became a member of the trio of saxophonist Ab Baars , where he is still active. As often happens in jazz, the Joode playing in different groups and often with the same musicians. Since the early nineties, he is part of the big band of pianist Michiel Braam , Bik Bent Braam , in which several Dutch musicians play with whom the Joode regularly works in one form or another: by Burr, he also plays in the trio BraamDeJoodeVatcher and Bentje Burr , he is part of the quartet of trumpeter Eric Farmers and he played with trombonist Wolter Wierbos . He also plays regularly with groups of Chris Abelen and in recent years he has a trio with German musicians Frank Gratkowski ( clarinet and saxophone ) and Achim Kaufmann ( piano ). Furthermore DeJoode played and recorded with include French Vermeerssen , Jan Klare , a trio with Cor Fuhler and Han Bennink , Joost Buis , Corrie van Binsbergen , Tobias Delius and Ken Vandermark .
