My Interest in the animal kingdom has been primarily on the streets of New York City and other major urban centers to which I frequently travel on what I call a continuous “Urban Safari.” On this Safari, the "wildlife" of choice are distinctly not wild, not alive and not real -- and never have been. Rather I choose to pursue only the myriad forms of "inanimate" animals of every real and fantastic species that exist only through obsessive manmade reproductions (in advertising, street art, public sculpture, etc.) and yet profusely populate our cities -- always interacting in strange and often whimsical ways with unsuspecting humans and the urban environment. My submission here is just a small sampling of this ever growing series.
