Due to global warming, there is also a lack of snow in the mountains and this causes problems for many winter sports regions. After all, it takes a successful winter season with guaranteed snow to satisfy tourists.
For this reason, some ski resorts have started snow-farming, a special type of snow management.
A process that starts at the end of the winter season. In about three weeks of work, snow machines are used to push together and compress available snow masses. These snow deposits are now given a summer coat consisting of insulating panels, special plastic films and a white fleece. These insulations are intended to prevent the snow masses from melting by up to 80% over the summer half-year.
At the end of the summer season is prepared for winter operation. An opposite process starts. All covers are removed and the snow groomers begin to distribute the old snow on the slopes.
Another ski season can start!
