I Must Leave

The series of images are from the book, "I Must Leave," with a limited edition of 200 copies, published in September 2019. The author made several trips in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he felt the energy of ancient spirits touched him and awakened his personal search for meaning. This artist's book was printed by Meridian Press of Rhode Island, casebind, layflat, glued double spreads. The story reflects on the photographer's lonely childhood, isolation, depression, and redeeming 25 years of taking care of frail elderly until the moment of death as the owner of a long-term care facility in rural Wisconsin, USA. The work has been exhibited in several galleries in Mexico and the USA.
