Shot with a Konica C35. Kodak 400 TX, developed at home using C41color process, including Blix. Other non-traditional elements were introduced to the developing process including mild crumpling of the film. In scanning the images were enhanced to enhance the bold contrast. The result is a vintage look which includes a ruddy, tactile quality. The intent is to move away from digitization in a way comparable to listening to an original, and scratched 78 rpm jazz recording. The figures (in silhouette) convey both the solitary and reflective nature of climbing in the winter, as well as comradery in the quest. These were shot in January 2021 on Mt Monadnock, in Southern New Hampshire, USA, (the second most climbed mountain in the world after Mount Fuji, so they say).
