I Met God, He’s Black

This series was originally a compilation of photographs I had taken of Black men over the years. Last year I decided to conceptualize this collection into a visual project featuring Black men and their stories. Often, the conversations around the injustice and violence experienced by Black men are frequent and run deep. As it should. I Met God, He’s Black is a photo project that pushes the other side of this conversation forward. Through portraiture, I share excerpts from my conversations with Black men across the diaspora. Through this project, you'll read about the experienced joy and pride of these Black men existing in the world. As of 2021, I Met God, He's Black is an ongoing project.
