Using the selfie as a reference to each of our own personal experiences, coupled with looking through the glass, into the empty shops, and then back at the glass reflection, depicting what’s behind me, a Dual Narrative is told. Looking forwards and backwards, at the same time, to see two different stories.
Along with the play on the double reflection, the found image is repurposed along with reinterpreting their text. Found poetry in the windows to tell a new story.
Dual Narrative tries to unmask the mechanical nature of how we view the world. Through social media, many have become accustomed to viewing an abundance of information, without questioning the content, a kind of emptiness in what we’re actually seeing. Dual Narrative is a balance between drawing the viewer into an assumed space and mirroring back something deeper beyond the surface of our first impressions.
