Makoko is a small community located in the heart of Lagos, consisting of fishermen and their immediate families. The community is known to be home to numerous people from various corners of West Africa, with one major source of of livelihood, fishing. Although they receive a handful of help from charitable organizations and donors, this community is known to be harbored by some of the poorest of the poor, and still receives guests and tourists from across the world looking to explore the community tagged as the Venice of Lagos for its beautiful scenery, houses built on bamboo stilts and fresh fishes. This project is directed towards bringing awareness to the small community and it's imperfect beauty.
