The series FATHER PICTURES (2001-2004) is aiming to confront the narratives of two alienated generations. Using realistic silicon puppets to help exorcise long held inner images from conflicted childhood memories, the sequence invokes this sense of dread and silence familiar to many young Germans having grown up in Post War West-Germany. Besides large amounts of research material these images meant to be emotional blueprints may remain the sole pre-visualisations of a film project still waiting to be born.
