"I Still Love You..."

Since 2015, I have photographed in the trans community in Cuba. I have become a member of a family of women who have allowed me to create portraiture of their lives. Typically, images of transgender person are based on stereotypical activities, such as pride parades and sex work. My intention was to create a counter narrative that locates and balances the lives, through images, those photographed in documentary style portraits. "I Still Love You..." is a visual story that shows their resilience, their strength, and will to persevere against systemic transphobia in a male/machismo country.
