Imagine you'd be a child and you're desperate to go to the fun fair in your neighborhood. You like to socialize with your friends and have lots of fun and excitement. You'd like to try out all the amazing attractions, the carousels, the ferris wheel and so on. You'd like to eat the snacks and sweets, which your parents will get you from the inviting stalls. Now all of that might be quite impossible due to severe pandemic restrictions, which you would not really understand. You would dream of being there, but your dreams might be strange, even a little eerie. There would still be all the attractions but almost no-one to see or having fun. Your dream fair will not be located in your neighborhood but far far away in a ghostly land, detached from everything you're accustomed to, impossible to reach.
In my photos I tried to reimagine those dreamy impressions, a child's (unfulfilled) wishes and longings. Still the dream fair is attractive, it's colorful and seducing. But it is set into an endless landscape, with no apparent way to arrive there, you can't even go back. Pastel colors reinforce this impression of physical detachment - an unearthly mix of detailed reality and airy dreams.
