Mr Gunasoma
According to folklore the art of spectacle making, a process where large rocks of quartz are cut, shaped & then fashioned to be used as glasses or spectacles has been in existence since 1346. At the brink of extinction, one of the very few, if not the last known master of this craft, Mr. Gunasoma operates out of his house on the outskirts of Kandy Sri Lanka. Long believed to be a descendent of the original spectacle makers who made glasses for Sinhala Kings he still practices his craft using the very same tools & techniques used by his ancestors.
