Marginal Extinctions

A reflection on my concern about loss of species and habitats- wildlife on the margins of existence. I photograph flowers, leaves, dead birds, and debris in and around my garden, combining them with drawings and paintings from my sketchbooks and other found imagery. The photographing and tracking of these small seemingly insignificant events in my garden, like a domestic “memento mori”, mirrors the more complex picture of possible environmental change and catastrophe.
