Pire-shaliar ceremony is held in the middle of winter on Friday witch is a three day long ceremony. During this ritual, Kurds make sacrifice, play Daff, singing, Sama dance and make a special soup. According to a narration Pire-Shaliar has been one of the most famous Zoroastrian clergies, who has been living in the ancient area of Huraman, in the village of Huramane Takht in Kurdistan in west of Iran about 501 Km from Tehran.
Due to folk myth, he healed the daughter of king of Bokhara who was death and dumb, the king had promised to anyone who cure his girl, would marry her. When they reached to Huramane Takht, suddenly the girl become hears and talks. So the king fulfilled his promise and the girl married to Pire-Shaliar.
After that, Hurami Kurds celebrates this three days long ceremony each year.
By the rising of sun of the first day, pilgrims give away candy, walnuts and some kind of breads to small kids. Kurds from all over the country bring their sheep and cows for a big sacrifice. The meat is used for a soup; witch is made in the kitchen of Pire-Shaliar's house in the middle of the day. The soup is served between pilgrims and the ritual of Sama and playing Daff begins. After that Darvishs go to visit Pire-Shaliar's tomb and later that night they gather again in Pire-Shaliar's house to make a nightly ritual and it takes three days.
