To plunge into an unknown parallel world is never an easy step.
Montreal, a fine Summer’s evening in 2008, a friend invites me to go to the famous Tuesday evening at Cabaret Mado, I accepted.
Two hours of surprises, comedy and extravagance, and I am captivated. A sudden desire to share this experience with the world takes hold of me. A few days later, the project “Multicolored turbulence” takes shape in my mind.
I become a regular at the cabaret almost every Tuesday in order to get a deeper understanding of this alternative world
The pure energy of these evenings makes me even more enthusiastic, and I discover other shows, clubs and events. My contacts within this world expand, and my ideas grow even faster
After a few months frequenting this world, I became a part of it, exciting no attention, and I felt accepted enough to begin what I think of as my first artistic Photo Reportage.
I fix the moments in time, and the expression becomes crystal clear. I try to capture the beauty and authenticity of this parallel world
With my slight frame, and my towering 1 metre 60 (well 61), I can thread my way through the crowds barely noticed. I am all but invisible to my subjects.
