Submission

This Series is a combination of collage and weaving in which two or more of my photograph are recycled together. This process represent a departure from traditional photography and introduces a new and different narrative. The process extends my previous work in tableau photography creating a new vehicle for story telling. Once completed the photographs are printed in larger format to emphasize the hand-made qualities, of cutting, combining parts, blending together, 3-D elements, into a story line. The ideas built into each composition come from my experiences as an artist, teacher, traveler, and twin. They highlight, love, loss, and longing, often colored by nostalgia. When two or more parts of a photograph are placed side by side in limited space, new relationships form that are different than either of the original pieces. The viewer is delivered a composition that both reveal and conceal ideas to create open-ended narratives.
