Robab, my grandma, is almost going to be a hundred years old. She lives alone in someplace in Karaj, Iran. She is very old, and she doesn't have ability to read and write. She is from a generation that they didn't have chance to experience modern system of education.
Although, one of my grandma's daughters who lives in Karaj in her neighborhood, and visits her everyday, she does all of her needs on her own.
When I was a student in Tehran, Iran and was living in Karaj several years ago, I can recall that she bought a small notebook in order to do something special for herself. I was curious a bit to know what she wants to do with that notebook while she didn't even know how to write or read. I left karaj, moved to Yazd, and then moved outside of Iran.
Now, I'm back to Iran, after 10 months, and I saw she did a good job in terms of memorizing and remembering her family members' phone numbers.
