TRAVESTIMENTI - ANOTHER ME Travestimenti is an autobiographical photographic project. Not the simple direct study of oneself, of someone's feelings, of someone's physicality, but the story of a broader and unexpected reflection that, before leaving the house, decides to wear the untouchable clothes of cinematographic myths. Through a long path of empathic approach to the subjects I dress up as, I try to unhinge, in the timeless instant of photography, the power of cinema’s icons. I get inside these characters, so I don’t just have to look at them. In every shot I look for the direct comparison with the portrayed subjects, openly stating their presence with an explicit and didactic approach, where static settings and refined poses inspect those distant lives in search of similarity. Looking for another me. With a brazen style and expressive form, I reveal and unveil the myth, transmitting to the eye of the beholder, the incendiary excitement, the crawling vibrant possibility of being able to be, somehow, someone else. Or more simply, by disguising myself, I revealed myself.
