My art is overcoming. It’s an exploration of my mind, feelings, and the aspects of life that hide in the shadows. Exploring, for me, is like a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs, is scary and exciting, but it always resolves in me conquering my anxiety and fear- two things that kept me from expressing my true self to the world.
I am influenced by my relationships with the world and other people. I believe that if one is not already strong in their own being, our relationships can draw us away from our own identity. I believe this because it happened to me. I found freedom when I stopped living for other people and when I was able to take my issues and find the resolutions within. I became my own teacher by connecting to nature and allowing it to communicate to me through patterns, animals, music, and art, especially through my own. These instances pulled me to becoming an artist and demanded that I use my talents to convey feelings and messages to the world.
