Przerwana lekcja tradycji

Portraits of one of the last traditional musicians from Roztocze Zachodnie region in eastern Poland, close to the Lublin city. Their instrumental music and singing were passed down through ancestors only by ear, retaining its 19th century and earlier characteristic. In recent years they have become masters of young people mainly from cities, who are part of a movement focused on collecting, studying and playing old music from villages in its possible purest form. Thanks to the joint effort of the masters and students the source of traditional music has not been interrupted and is no longer threatened with extinction.
