In 2016 I had the opportunity to work and help raise funds with a start up non-profit organization called RENEW. The goal of the organization was to create after school programs for young students to discover and learn about their passions, turn those passions into a written agenda (goal setting), and then turn that belief into a reality as they grew older. During our free time we went on a few adventures. One in particular was visiting the village and family of our colleague Saning'o. The images presented in this series are portraits taken from the whole story, but express a deep sense of pride and geniality. Despite the language barriers and unfamiliarity to their customs, his family graced me with a chance to collaborate and document their land and traditions.
