In early February 2022, I traveled to Pakistan. My aim was to visit the Kalash people who live near the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Kalash people are an ethnically-culturally unique ancient tribe living in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In recent decades due to the pressure of fundamentalist and extremist groups in Pakistan and Afghanistan and the constant threat of religious oriented wars and conflicts, the Kalash people are either migrating or converting to Islam, so their population is decreasing significantly. The origin of Kalash people and their religious root is greatly disputed.
I traveled to the Chitral District in northern Pakistan, to visit the Kalash people in the Bumburet region. Mostly I wanted to meet Kalash women and hear their stories
