I photographed this project at a zoo. Animals in their cages were deprived of their freedom, yet they seemed carefree and never had to worry about food. This made me think philosophically about freedom. What is the meaning of the pursuit of freedom? We are always governed by rules that sustain the functioning of society. So does freedom really exist?
