One year into the pandemic, I returned to my lockdown project to document volunteers behind the vaccination effort. Working with St John Ambulance and published in National Geographic, I photographed 10 of the 27000 SJA volunteers supporting The NHS. From East London to Manchester, from Olympic gold medallists to retired US Army Officers, pilots to minibus drivers... these are the volunteers helping us return to normal.
