Pomak Bride

This project was published on Vogue Italia as a photo-story. About the project For ages, weddings have an important role in our lives. In that story we want to emphasize the matter of weddings as a harmony of the past and the present, especially Turkish Pomak culture that we get inspired. As a focus in close up frames, we recognise at the very first sight the make up and the accessories as a reflection of cultural rituals. Forms, colours and dimensions are changing ages to ages but this shooting tells us that it is really hard to distinguish former days from nowadays. Moreover, these photo-portrait series presents the most important Turkish bridal ritual, henna, colourful and patterned flakes in Pomak culture and also the passion of accessories to the auidience in a fashionable way.
