I wrote the poem "Stone" and made a series of photographs on this subject that expresses my state of today. My father is Ukrainian, my mother is Russian. Today I am not very welcome in Europe, because I am Russian, in Russia, I am also a stranger because I am openly gay.
Stone
Look at me! I am not your enemy.
It is not my fault to have this stone.
This stone is my nativity, my mother’s earth.
Or do you prefer your mother’s death alone, without love?
This stone will be always on my shoulders,
Because it is a part of me.
Look at me!
I am nothing for this world.
I don't have the power of changing anything.
What can I do? This stone is my blood, my mother’s earth.
I can't change my blood, this life fluid is part of me.
Look at me!
For powerful people, I am nihility.
For them, I am an insect and nothing in this World.
Obliterate this stone is death to me.
Like to refuse my blood.
Forget my mother, who loves me!
Look at me! I am not your enemy.
It is not my fault to have this stone.
I am nothing in this world.
Don't look at me! if you think I am your enemy.
