The cult of Virgin Mary in Marseille

In Marseille, the city of the south-east of France, there is a neighborhood which means the basket.When in the nineteenth century spanish and italian workers went to France they came with their faith in Virgin Mary.Nowadays, in this district and around there are big holidays in honor of Virgin Mary.There is candlemas which commemorate the arrival of the light in february,the holiday of the assumption which the ascent of the heaven of Virgin Mary and to finish the year the holiday in honor of Virgin Mary of the light near the twenty first of december.
