The empty box Questo progetto nasce da un bisogno personale di grandi spazi per colmare grandi vuoti. Quando qualcosa di grande ti viene meno, quando la solitudine e la tristezza d’animo prendono il sopravvento, allora io ricerco nei grandi spazi, aria e ossigeno, ma a volte molto piu semplicemente vado a cercare lo stesso stato d’animo che ho in quel momento. Non e un atto stupido ma bensì un confronto con quello che sono e che sento. Gli USA, uno dei paesi piu grandi del mondo, cosi pieno, cosi ricco di eccessi irrazionali e contraddizioni che quando ci sei dentro ti sembra di essere in una scatola vuota in cui ovunque ti giri vedi una realtà che è cresciuta troppo in fretta rispetto alla sua vera natura, un paese che cerca di colmare le differenze che si creano solo quando lo spazio e troppo grande rispetto al contenuto, tramite il ricordo delle canzoni di Elvis Presley e il turismo sfrenato nei centri città cosi fitti e concentrati. Ma se poi guardi negli angoli di questa scatola ritrovi quel disagio e quella solitudine che ti sembrava ti avessero nascosto cosi bene. Allora capisci che non è nei grandi spazi che ritrovi quello che cerchi, ma solo dentro di te. This project was born from a personal need of big spaces to fill a huge emptiness. When something really important to you comes less, when the loneliness and sadness get the spirit, then I look for big spaces where I can find oxygen and air, but sometimes I just simply want to hit the same mood I’m felling that moment. This is not a stupid act as it seems, sometimes we just seek the lack of answers around us, it’s a confrontation with what we are in that specific moment of our life. The Unite States, such a big and great country, so full, so rich of irrattional excesses and paradoxes, that when you are inside it, looks that you are in a big box where everywhere you turn you see a reality that has grown too fast respect its real nature, a country that try to bridge the differences creating only when the space is too big compared to the content, through the memory of Elvis Presley’s songs and the packed city centers. But if you look carefully at the corners of this box, you’ll find again that melancholy that seemed hidden so well. Then, you understand that is not in the big spaces that you find what you look for, but the answer is inside you.
