Since the advent of digital photography and the democratization of publishing, the world has been flooded with content optimized for instant gratification. Lacking the need for intentionality, the curation of exposures required by the original modality of analog photography is often forgotten.
Convenience has shaped our advanced society: artforms such as photography have benefitted from digitalization (which is indeed helpful in many situations), but has re-formed it from its distinct, selective process.
My work often reflects timeless, undated subjects, though also have an ineffable quality of contemporary flare. This marries two eras, accentuating qualities recognizable enough to all generations, though simultaneously yielding a unique aesthetic.
