Daughters

Capturing life that has been lived and life that has just begun, my work explores the passing of time and lived experience through generations.
 Since the beginning of my photographic journey, I have worked from home with my own close family. As a daughter and as a mother of three girls, I am concerned with the long lasting and evolving relationship between mothers and daughters shaped in early childhood years.  
Exploring the experience of the self in relation to child upbringing, and the crucial role of women as mothers, I am not only interested in the mother - daughter relationship, but also the concept of Motherhood. 
Intrigued by social heritage, I question what we consciously and unconsciously pass on to our children in terms of genes, experiences, relations, heredity and environment. Through the eternal transformation of a daughter into a mother and contrasts of shape, form and texture between the young and the old, I am interested in the passing of time in a woman´s life, the lived experience, and the transferring of relational patterns through generations.
