Paris, Unveiled is a project that I started in November 2021, which aims to depict the current status of my life to have a better understanding of it. There is a certain dominant feeling of loneliness in Paris, however I came to realise that it is a great opportunity to discover identity and its flaws with the help of photography. One of the first questions that I asked myself in Informing Contexts module was ‘How can I photograph of my identity before my constructed memories intervene? As a result, I aimed to create a visual narrative that is a simultaneous dialogue between photographs and my current being in order to reach the truest visual representation of my identity including all of its hesitancy, division and differentiation. It was an attempt to create many doppelgängers that has been changing continuously. In the mean time, I went back to some childhood memories and aimed to create an interaction with myself from different ages to attempt to control my memory and how I remember past. This created a constant photography game to catch the truth from different perspectives before it was a memory that was linked to others and could be manipulated in time. As Freud said, humankind is trying to go beyond its limits by using different apparatuses, in this case, it is a way to go beyond loneliness, anxiety, hoping to reach a peaceful self in an unpredictable future.
