On April 6, a team of four Spaniards with a Ukrainian woman resident in Spain 20 years ago, fly to Warsaw to bring 40 Ukrainian refugees, previously selected, to locate them in Spain.
The meeting point is the bus station of the Polish capital, at 8:30 PM, where we discover that only half of the passengers are waiting for us. A search against the clock of those interested in traveling with Spain begins. By asking at the station the refugees who are piling up there, contacting a bus that is crossing the Ukrainian border at the time, and going to a refugee camp, we finally managed to fill the bus. At 4 in the morning we start the return trip by bus, lasting 44 hours.
My goal as a volunteer photographer in this project has been to give them a voice, so they can speak for themselves, and become more than a simple number. That is why I created these photographs, asking them to write a message to the World.
