Before I started studying photography my interests lay in fashion and clothes. Fashion is still an important aspect in my life. I combine this with my socially engaged subjects. My curiosity leads me in my photographic work. Talking to people, connecting with them and photographing them is very important for me.
I always try to have a story behind the fashion photographic series I make, mostly inspired by political situations or the people in front of my camera. I was always intrigued by fashion because of the way people translated themselves to the world around them. My project ‘What Love Means’ gave me the opportunity to do research about gender and sexuality. That’s where I started to question masculinity, femininity, non-binarity and the representation of it while portraying people who are questioning this subjects as well.
