The 1981 Brixton Riots

April, 1981, following rumours of police brutality to a young black man, some of the worst rioting ever seen in Britain broke out in Brixton, South London. At the time I was living not very far from Brixton and was in the area with a camera as events unfolded. The photographs were never published at the time, I lacked the contacts but they've been used in documentaries and articles since. They are available free for non-profit use.
