I am inspired by the many shapes and adaptations that plants make to keep growing. Ever amazed by what will come back to life in the spring, even after heavy snows, the tenacity of plant life is a constant source of inspiration. In this series, I chose to highlight these shapes and patterns, to show both the simplicity of design in nature but also its wildness. By shooting in manmade gardens I am asking the viewer to look for the innate wildness within the careful planting; to see the patterns that nature creates within the design by man. I wanted to communicate a sense of life, the ever-growing earth and a timelessness that reminds me how plants have always been here before us and, should our civilisation fall, they would take over the space that we leave behind.
