People of the Rails

Most people see a train only as an impediment, something that needs to be avoided or waited for. Yet the foundation of the railroad is not its ballast, but its people- engineers, conductors, track workers, passengers, railfans, and photographers, all humans just like those who might wish they were not as near the rails as they are, and those who simply are oblivious to the power of a train. Here are some of their stories.
